Good god where has the time gone!?
Summer of ’10 is here and gone in a matter of days and on certian projects we have completed a substansial amount of work, and on others not so much, so here is the rundown:
Undernet Uprising – thats the question on everyone’s mind: “Are we gonna just kill UU or are we ever going to get up off our butts and work on it?!”
The answer? Well, the answer would be that we HAVE been working on it! Thats right, aside from popular belief we have been working on the next update for Undernet Uprising and its website! The catch this time? We have been working very hard on integrating the forum’s user database with the game’s user database that way there only needs to be one account for everything, so that is taking a substansial amount of time to actually put into action (considering we’re using resSyS my prototype website firmware). Anyway, thanks to other projects, school, work, and assessments UU will unfortunately have to remain on the backburner until the Dev team can find time to mess around with it more, sorry fans!
Speaking of resSyS, with this blog post I am announcing the upcoming release of an alpha of my new website firmware, resSyS. resSyS is a backoffice web system that uses PHP 5 and MySQL 5 to dynamically edit and make web pages. You could say that its like WordPress or Blogger, but for other web developers and other people in web coding to mess around with. The first planned released version will be resSyS Simple (For simple, minimal paged websites) and in the next few years i plan on releasing resSyS Advanced (For more complex websites with a multitude of pages and sub pages) resSyS is also powered by a WYSIWYG editor called CKEditor for backoffice web page creation. I am currently applying custom versions of resSyS in www.remcoevidenceproducts.com and www.sherlocktape.com (as of this blog post, those websites haven’t been updated with the new website containing resSyS).
On the personal side, Around the end of August I’ll be switching from the Windows platform to the Mac platform, mostly because I have the money to and it makes Web Design almost a cake walk, which I definatly. Did I forget to mention that I have a job?
Oh yeah thats right, I have a job as a Web Developer until the end of August when I head back to school, then next summer I head back to work as a Web Developer again.
Well school starts back up August 31st for me, so until then I’ll be either working at my desk on Web Development, Shaking bugs out of the UU Database system, streaming, or Working on resSyS… oh yeah and Steam too.
I am on STEAM (The PC/Mac gaming platform) if anyone would like to hit me up for a game of TF2, CS:S, HL2:DM, or Garry’s Mod, so don’t hesitate! My SteamID is: resriori.
Have a great rest of your summer everybody!
